Rules and Regulations

School Rules


1. ALL students MUST be regular and punctual to school and must attend ALL classes.



2. Once a student has entered the gates, he/she may not leave the compound without the permission of Dean/Principal/Vice Principal and MUST be accompanied by the Parent/Guardian. Parent/ Guardian must show I.D. to collect a student during school hours. School ends at 2.30 p.m.



3. Late-coming (Unpunctuality) must be discouraged. Students MUST arrive at school for 7.55 a.m.



4. Students are not permitted to deliberately miss Morning Assembly, Home Room or subject classes. Such behaviour would result in a Parent Conference on the first occasion.



5. A student who has been absent must bring, on his return to school, a written excuse signed by his/her parent or guardian.



6. Parent/Guardian must have a conference with the Dean/Vice Principal after a student's prolonged period of absence.



7. All students are to remain seated in their classrooms and do quiet constructive work if/when the teacher for that class/period is not present.



8. Any student who disrupts classes, making it difficult for teaching and learning to take place, will be dealt with according to school policies and Ministry of Education guidelines.



9. Respect for all adults, their peers, school property, themselves and their school environment is strongly encouraged as this is an essential part of an individual's character development.



10. Homework must be done properly and promptly.



11. Headphones, electronic games, camera phones and all such mobile devices are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN at school. They will be confiscated, for collection by parent/guardian only.



12. Laptops can be used ONLY with a teacher's permission and under the supervision of the said teacher.



13. Smoking and the consumption of alcohol are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN for both legal and health reasons. Students indulging in these activities will be suspended from school.



14. Chewing of gum is strictly prohibited.



15. The selling, use and personal possession of drugs such as alcohol, marijuana and other narcotic substances, as well as explosive devices are STRICTLY PROHIBITED.



16. Fighting, bullying and possession of weapons e.g. knives, razors and pointed scissors are not permitted on or off the school compound.



17. Gambling and the use of obscene language is not permitted.



18. Tattoos are strictly prohibited.



19. Students are encouraged to wear the correct school uniforms at all times. Make-up, weaves, dying of hair, extended eyelashes, nose rings and other facial piercings are not permitted. Girls may wear one (1) pair of gold/silver stoppers in the ear lobe.



20. Boys are NOT permitted to alter the school pants in any way.



21. Students must wear a simple, neat and appropriate hairstyle for school. Boys should have no markings in the hair and are not permitted to wear earrings.



22. Sexual misconduct of any type is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.



STUDENTS ARE NOT TO ENGAGE IN ANY BEHAVIOUR WHICH WILL BRING THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL INTO DISREPUTE, INCLUDING LOITERING ON THE ROADWAYS, BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL.
